Why is My UPS Beeping?

One of the most common failures with a UPS is battery failure and this can result in alarms and more importantly loss of protection. Batteries are common items to replace and most UPS systems allow for battery changes to be made and this is a cost effective alternative to replacement.

Not all batteries are the same and care needs to be taken when selecting batteries including rating, sizes and terminal types. Some portable UPS solutions also require main casings to be opened by accredited licensed persons to ensure electrical safety, as the UPS is a 240VAC mains device, should only carry this out. InfraWorks Australia carries our UPS service on a range of solutions and can assist with battery replacement and repairs. As the device is mains appliance we maintain all electrical safety standards in inspection, testing and reporting.

Probably less known is the potential fire risk from faulty UPS solutions. Dust build up around fans and printed circuit boards present high fire risks from a device that already has a high operating temperature. In some instances serious fires and personal injuries have occurred from poorly maintained UPS equipment and we strongly recommend servicing of the equipment and correct long-term care.

InfraWorks has a range of service support options that can assist clients with keeping their solutions in best working order. It has the knowledge and proven experience to design, supply, deploy and maintain critical infrastructure in line with industry best practice and cost effective management. "We make technology work for our clients in the real world".
